The ITTS A. Volta is a Technological Technical Institute. It has 1,700 students, aged between 14 and 19 years old, coming from the city and surrounding areas. There are 231 teachers and 46 administrative and organizational staff members. We offer several courses: Electronics and Electrotechnics, Mechatronics and Energy, Chemistry, ICT and Telecommunications, Graphics and Communication, Transport and Logistics, and a new course introduced last school year: Graphics and Sports. In 2012, our school was ranked among the top 10 schools in Italy, selected by the Ministry of Education for the implementation of the "Piano Scuol@2.0," which aims to provide a completely new approach to teaching and learning environments through the use of new technologies. We are therefore in the midst of this historic shift toward a digital school.
The mission of our school is to educate European citizens who respect other cultures, providing them with the skills of the 21st century and an attitude towards lifelong learning and continuous innovation. To achieve this ambitious goal, we leverage shared experiences with other European schools, so internationalization is a key element of our development plan. All our actions are based on a policy of inclusion and integration, with great attention given to students with special needs. We have a team of teachers who focus on planning and monitoring this important area. Our school supports families facing economic difficulties with various initiatives, offering temporary book loans and having a group of teachers and students who carry out volunteer activities for the school and the local community, including blood donations and civil protection for emergencies.
It has 1,700 students, aged between 14 and 19 years old, coming from the city and surrounding areas. In recent years, the number of immigrants from both European and non-European countries has steadily increased. The socioeconomic profile of our students is highly variable. At the end of a five-year course, students obtain a diploma that allows them to pursue a professional career or attend university courses or master's programs at the I.T.S. (Higher Technical Institute).
